I couldn't agree more. My boyfriend is a board game fanatic, as are many of his friends. At first I thought it was a charmingly dorky quirk but I discovered, hey, these are actually really fun! We play all kinds of complicated strategy games---commanding alien armies, fighting off zombies, building civilizations, solving word puzzles, and so on. It's a surprisingly fun way to spend an evening. I like all the teamwork and it allows for kid participation for couples with families. It also teaches you a lot about other couples. The couple that works together and cleans house at a tough game is invariably a solid couple in "real life", too.

4. Yes, I live in Manhattan and so we have Central Park (which we ironically haven't gone to much), although we have walked through Battery Park and certain areas of Jersey. A picnic sounds like a good idea too.
