When we were in the beginning of our relationship, my boyfriend would always talk about her and compare me to her. He would say, "Grace would never do this for me. She was so selfish, I hate her." etc, etc. This felt good at first, but then I started wondering why she was on his mind so much. As I started being at his apartment more and more, I would do some cleaning for him and some cooking. I ended up finding a TON of her stuff that she left after she moved, like necklaces, shampoo bottles still in the shower, hair bleach, self-tanner, all her school work, nasty old makeup, stuffed animals he gave her, and even a pair of hideous underwear. This is when I truly realized how much it bothered me that she used to live here.

Isolation is a major thing, after having gone through an abusive relationship, and at some point, you realize you have dropped everything. It happens slowly, and the level of contention is just so easily avoided if you don't do it, and then you realize, you never do anything anymore, and your friends are gone. If you go out with a buddy and she pouts and gets angry, you stop going out to avoid the backlash. If you bring her along with your friends or family, she behaves annoyed or there's more contention because she doesn't like so-and-so or she doesn't like the activity, so you avoid taking her with you...but you can't go out without her due to the consequences. Where does that leave you? This is worrisome for me. I think you really need to pay attention here and be cautious.

As far as how she dresses...was she just coming from work or were you out on a Saturday night and if so what was the activity you were both engaged in? If she was working, well she probably has to look professional and wants her co-workers to take her seriously. It's difficult trying to get respect in the workplace when you are in your 20...everyone thinks you're just a kid.
